Revised- BVI Quarantine Advisory

The Government of the British Virgin Islands is advising the general and travelling public of the following border control and quarantine measures for travelers entering the Territory, in light of the public health risk posed by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

  • Passengers and crew members who have travelled to, from or through COVID-19 affected countries as specified in a list of countries of special interest within a period of 14 days or less will be subject to quarantine upon arrival in the British Virgin Islands.

  • With effect from March 15, 2020 passengers and crew members who have travelled to, from or through COVID-19 affected countries as specified in a list of countries of special interest within a period of 14 days or less will not be allowed to enter the British Virgin Islands. This does not apply to nationals of the British Virgin Islands and permanent residents.

  • Nationals or non-nationals who have been in close contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 within a period of 14 days or less, will be subject to quarantine for up to fourteen (14) days even if they do not exhibit symptoms of COVID-19

  • Nationals or non-nationals who have travelled to, from or through a high risk country within a period of 14 days or less immediately preceding their arrival in the Territory will be subject to enhanced screening procedures and may be quarantined for a period up to fourteen (14) days  based on the outcome of a risk assessment.

These measures are being taken to prevent the introduction and active transmission of COVID-19 in the British Virgin Islands, thereby safeguarding the health and wellbeing of all residents and visitors, and will remain in effect until further notice.

As of March 13, 2020 the countries of special interest are China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, France, Spain and Germany; and the high risk countries are USA, Switzerland, Japan, and Norway. Updates will be posted periodically to www.bvi.gov.vg/covid-19.
