The Civil Registry and Passport Office has launched new Birth and Death Certificates, marking a significant step in strengthening the integrity, security, and presentation of vital records in The Virgin Islands. Persons are encouraged to obtain new certificates from the Civil Registry and Passport Office.
The newly designed certificates introduce enhanced visual and security features, ensuring that official documents issued meets contemporary standards while preserving the historical identity and legacy of The Virgin Islands.
Registrar General, Mrs. Tashi O’Flaherty-Maduro highlighted the Civil Registry and Passport Office’s ongoing work to advance and modernise operations. Mrs.O’Flaherty-Maduro said, “The introduction of these modern certificates represents a clear advancement in how we manage and protect vital records. By integrating enhanced security features with a more accessible and modern design, we are ensuring that these documents remain both secure and user-friendly for all residents.”
The certificates also feature refined layouts for improved readability, as well as advanced security elements aimed at preventing fraud and unauthorised reproduction. These improvements reinforce the Government’s commitment to safeguarding personal records and maintaining public trust in official documentation.
The Civil Registry and Passport Office will also be introducing new marriage, adoption and stillbirth certificates in the near future.
